Privacy Policy — Tesla Price History

Last updated: 17 May 2026

Tesla Price History (“the extension”) is a browser extension that displays the price history of used Tesla vehicles on Tesla’s inventory pages. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles.

Data the extension handles

To show price history, the extension reads the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) of the cars listed on the Tesla inventory page you are viewing, and sends them over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our server to retrieve each car’s recorded price history.

VINs identify vehicles, not people, and are public information shown on Tesla’s website.

Data the extension does NOT collect

The extension does not collect, store, or transmit:

The extension has no account and no sign-in. It stores nothing about you, on your device or on our servers. Your browser’s language setting is read locally to choose the interface language and is never transmitted.

How the data is used

VINs are sent to our backend (hosted on Supabase) solely to look up and return the price history for those vehicles. They are not used for any other purpose.

Data sharing

We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties. We do not use data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness assessment, or lending. The only data transfer is the VIN price-history lookup described above, which is required for the extension to function.

Data retention

The extension retains no user data and builds no profile of you. As with any internet request, our server receives the connection’s IP address to deliver the response; it is not stored for tracking or used to identify you.

Changes to this policy

Any future change will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
